The leaders of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan during the past meetings considered the possibility of optimal saturation of transport and logistics corridors from the PRC to Europe and the Persian Gulf states. The press service of the Uzbek President noted that the leaders expressed their readiness to ensure the full loading of the multimodal route PRC - Central Asia - South Caucasus.
The Turkmen and Uzbek leaders intend to continue to promote the Ashgabat agreement on the implementation of the international transport and transit corridor and to make efforts to improve the transport and logistics infrastructure.
Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized: despite the global situation with the global pandemic, there is a positive dynamics of Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation. Recently, the volume of goods flow has tripled, reaching $530 million by the end of 2020.
Recall that the Ashgabat interstate agreement on the creation of an international transport and transit corridor was signed by Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Iran and Oman ten years ago - in April 2011. In 2015, Kazakhstan became a party to it, and in 2018, India. - India joined the corridor in 2015.
