Turkmenistan and WHO discussed issues of interaction

The Turkmen delegation took part in the 76th session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva on May 20. In the framework of the working visit, the Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan A. Hermanov met with the head of WHO Tedros Adan Ghebreisus. Germanov met with the head of WHO Tedros Adan Gebreisus. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the conversation, the parties noted the importance of public health education, raising awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, early diagnosis of non-communicable diseases and their treatment.

The Turkmen side invited the head of WHO to participate in the 3rd ministerial conference on combating non-communicable diseases to be held in April 2024.

For his part, the WHO Director-General highly appreciated the development of health care in Turkmenistan in accordance with the programs of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and promised to support further improvement of the health care sector of Turkmenistan.
