U.S. delegation visited Turkmenistan under the Health Protection Program

A delegation of representatives of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has arrived in Turkmenistan as part of the Global Health Program for Central Asia. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

During the visit of foreign guests, meetings were held with representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, the Center for Public Health and Nutrition and the M. Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention first opened an office in 1995 in Kazakhstan. Today, it has offices in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

The Centers work with host governments on public health, laboratory capacity, surveillance, and human resource capacity to respond to outbreaks.
