Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov today met with Minister of Budget and Economic Planning of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to discuss the development of bilateral cooperation.
During the talks, the Turkmen side handed over a diplomatic note with an official proposal to establish diplomatic relations between the two states to their Nigerian counterparts. At the same time, a draft of the relevant bilateral document was presented to formalize diplomatic ties.
The parties considered a wide range of issues related to the prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Nigeria in various spheres. This initiative is aimed at intensifying relations between the countries and creating a legal framework for further development of partnership.
The meeting was held as part of the efforts of Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry to expand international ties and strengthen the country's position in Africa.
