Turkmenistan is preparing to host a major international energy conference aimed at promoting investment and cooperation in the country's oil and gas sector.
The 28th International Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition (OGT-2023) will be held in Ashgabat on October 25-27, organizers said on Monday. The event is organized by Turkmenistan's government agencies - the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the British consulting company GaffneyCline.
The conference will bring together energy companies, organizations and financial institutions from around the world for three days of meetings, exhibitions and discussions on the opportunities in Turkmenistan's energy sector. Key topics will include oil and gas exploration and production, petrochemicals, banking and financing of energy projects, and innovations in the energy sector.
Representatives of many international energy companies are expected to attend the exhibition, attracted by Turkmenistan's vast hydrocarbon reserves and desire to attract foreign investment. In recent years, the government has been actively promoting the country's energy potential and working to open up the sector to outside companies.
Delegates will be able to meet with high-ranking Turkmen officials to discuss specific investment proposals and partnerships. The conference will be held both face-to-face and virtually, and visa support is provided for foreign participants.
The organizers noted that in preparation for the OGT-2023, Ashgabat has already started large-scale preparatory work and infrastructure modernization. The capital has created modern conditions for exhibitions, panel discussions and networking.
The OGT conference is held annually, which gathers hundreds of delegates from dozens of countries. This year, the Turkmen authorities intend to significantly expand international interaction and investments in connection with the development of global energy markets.
