Turkmenistan received IRI support in oil and gas sector

Turkmenistan and Iran continue to consistently develop cooperation in the oil and gas sector, which is confirmed by the signing of new agreements. This is reported by the Internet edition Centralasia.news.

Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani noted that Turkmenistan and Iran were able to reach new agreements promising for both countries. Iran is both a transit and importer of Turkmen gas.

A contract was signed to supply up to 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Iraq via Iran under the SWAP scheme. Turkmenistan intends to increase the volume of gas supplies to Iran by building a new gas pipeline and gas compressor stations. Commenting on the new agreements, the Iranian diplomat expressed support for Turkmenistan's efforts to bring Turkmen natural gas to new international markets.
