Russian Federation Council delegation visits Turkmenistan

A delegation from Russia, including representatives of the Federation Council, arrived in Turkmenistan for a series of meetings to strengthen cultural, humanitarian and inter-parliamentary cooperation. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."

On December 5, the Russian senators traveled to the Pushkin Russian-Turkmen Secondary School, where they met with students and teachers. The delegation then visited the parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church and met with Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin.

The Pushkin Russian-Turkmen School effectively combines elements of Turkmen and Russian programs. Education is conducted in Russian, which contributes to the preservation of the Russian language space in Turkmenistan.

At a meeting in the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on December 6, 2024, delegates from the Russian Federation led by Vyacheslav Timchenko, Chairman of the Committee on Regulations and Organization of Parliamentary Activities, discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries with their Turkmen colleagues.
