On October 8, the Asian Weightlifting Championship will start in the capital of Bahrain. Turkmenistan's squad will consist of eight men and four women. Turkmenistan's Yu Jumabaeva, the holder of the world champion title and winner of the Asian Junior Championship, will compete Saturday in the 49kg weight class. Turkmenistan's representative on Sunday will be K. Shermetova (weight category of 55 kg) and I. Matkerimov (61 kg).
On Monday H. Yagmyrov (67 kg) will compete for the highest award. Yagmyrov (67kg), and on Wednesday, weightlifters G. Kadyrova (71kg) and G. Toraev (81kg) will represent Turkmenistan. Turkmenistan will represent two weightlifters, R. Annaberdiyev and S. Shokhradov, October 13 in the 89-kilogram weight class.
On Friday the honor of the country in the sports championship will be defended by A. Rustamova (81 kg), and on Saturday the platform will be occupied by men heavyweights D. Khasanbaev and S. Matyakubov. On Sunday, the final day of the Championship of Asia, the Turkmen sportsman H. Toichiev will perform in the weight category over 109 kg.
