On February 9-10, 2023, the 1st Interparliamentary Forum of the Central Asian region states was held in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the city of Turkestan. Turkmenistan was represented by a delegation headed by Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the country G. Ashirov. This is reported on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The Forum was opened by the speech of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan M. Ashimbayev, after which the leaders of the parliaments of the Central Asian countries made speeches.
Representatives of the parliaments of the Central Asian states touched upon the strengthening of multilateral partnership at the inter-parliamentary level. They touched upon the expansion of humanitarian cooperation of the countries of the region, which is based on the common cultural and historical heritage.
At the end of the event, the Turkestan Declaration was adopted, which reflected the prospects for further strategic partnership and the formation of a common cultural and historical space of the CA countries.
