Turkmen President proposed to improve the CA Water Strategy

During the Summit of Heads of IFAS Founding States, Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed to improve the Central Asian Water Strategy. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

In his speech, Serdar Berdimuhamedov proposed to fix in the developed Central Asian Water Strategy the basic rules of cooperation on water issues in the region, taking into account the interests of all states in the region. The President of Turkmenistan emphasized that the Central Asian Water Strategy could become the basis for the Global Water Strategy.

Also during the Summit, an initiative was put forward to modernize the Regional Environmental Action Plan for Central Asia for further inclusion of this Plan in the Action Program for Assistance to the Aral Sea Basin Countries.
