Turkmenistan-EU relations strengthened

On 11 December, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Ms. Teri Hakala, who is completing her mission as the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia, TDH reports.
The EU Special Representative congratulated the head of state on the International Day of Neutrality, noting that the European Union attaches great importance to the development of cooperation with neutral Turkmenistan, which stands for strengthening peace and mutual trust in the region and the world.
Thanking Mrs. Teri Hakala for her personal contribution to the development of the established constructive partnership, the Head of State congratulated her on her appointment as Finland's Special Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and wished her great success in her new responsible post.
During the meeting, the sides noted the success of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the European Union in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in a multifaceted format and within the framework of the European Union-Central Asia Dialogue.
The sides stressed the productivity of cooperation with the EU within the framework of programs and projects implemented over the years. In this regard, the head of state noted the successful implementation of projects in the fields of legislation, science and education, agriculture, environmental protection and combating climate change, and reiterated the country's readiness to further strengthen effective relations with the European Union.
