USAID held a DigiWomen Codefest hackathon contest for women and girls in Turkmenistan from May 26-28 this year, according to a USAID press release.
The three-day event was attended by 70 women from 4 regions of Turkmenistan. DigiWomen Codefest became an effective platform for the contestants to work together on projects in the field of technology.
The hackathon resulted in projects submitted for evaluation by the jury and the audience on the final day of the event. The works were evaluated on creativity, innovation, and the impact of the project on the life of society. At the end of the competition, the judges determined three winning projects.
The DigiWomen Camp program was launched in Turkmenistan in February this year to create new development opportunities in the field of information technology for women and girls.
