A significant event was held in Beijing to reflect on the thirty-year journey of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. The scientific and practical conference, held on October 16, 2025, became an important platform for dialog between representatives of political and expert communities of the two countries. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to China Parahat Durdyev emphasized the role of neutrality as a strategic choice of Turkmenistan, contributing to the strengthening of multifaceted cooperation with China. The discussion was attended by key Chinese experts, including Chinese Foreign Ministry Counselor Yu Chunli, who praised President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's international initiatives announced at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
The participants unanimously recognized that the neutral status of Turkmenistan, enshrined in three UN resolutions, continues to be the cornerstone of its foreign policy doctrine. Of particular interest was the discussion of the symbolism of the anniversary dates of 2025: 30th anniversary of neutrality and 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN.
The event presented the prospects of holding the International Forum in Ashgabat and organized thematic expositions demonstrating the achievements of Turkmenistan in the years of independence. The cultural program included acquaintance with the books of the distinguished President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
