Ashgabat hosted a meeting with the CIS Secretary General

Preparations for the upcoming high-level meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States were discussed during a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev. This is reported by the Internet publication "TurkmenPortal".

Organizational issues of the meeting to be held in the Turkmen capital on May 24, 2024 were discussed. During the meeting, the effectiveness of multilateral cooperation within the Commonwealth was noted. The participants of the meeting reviewed the schedule of the planned joint events and discussed the issues to be considered during the meetings of the highest and high level under the auspices of the CIS.

Sergei Lebedev noted Turkmenistan's contribution to strengthening ties between the CIS member states. On behalf of the CIS, he expressed commitment to expanding cooperation with Turkmenistan.
