A round table of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan folk craftsmen was held in Ashgabat

A round table on "Preservation, revival and development of folk arts and crafts" was held within the Days of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan in Turkmenistan. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The event was attended by masters and folk craftsmen of Tatarstan, representatives of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, art critics and honored cultural figures.

Before the meeting, the guests from the Republic of Tatarstan familiarized themselves with traditional Turkmen handicrafts and their peculiarities. The craftsmen from Tatarstan showed their products made according to the canons of the rich heritage of Tatar culture. It was noted that there are some similarities in the traditional costumes and hand embroidery of the two peoples.

Opinions were exchanged on the issues of personnel training and popularization of folk crafts. The participants of the round table also discussed modern forms of existence of folk crafts and application of IT-technologies in production.
