A seminar on improving the customs system was held in Ashgabat

The OSCE held a training seminar in Turkmenistan from October 3 to 5 on improving customs mechanisms and export procedures. This was reported in an OSCE press release in Ashgabat.

The event was attended by representatives of the country's Customs Service, members of relevant ministries and departments, employees of the Central Bank and commercial banks, the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi, members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

During the seminar, participants studied the best practices of EU countries in the digitalization of customs and export procedures. Algorithms for bringing customs mechanisms in line with international standards, as well as modernizing the regulatory framework for export procedures, were discussed. Participants also learned about the development of the port community system and the WTO tariff policy.
