Ashgabat hosts first international Internet Olympiad

The International University of Humanities and Development (IUHDD) hosted the third open math Olympiad for students of higher educational institutions, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported. The competition was held with the support of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

For the first time, representatives of the youth intellectual movement from around the world (Argentina, Belarus, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Greece, China, Russia, Romania, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, South Korea) took part in these intellectual competitions.

The Distance Olympiad was held in two categories: category "A" is intended for students who specialize in mathematics and computer science and category "B" is aimed at students of other specialties. According to the rules of the Internet Olympiad, the participants were given four hours to solve various problems. At the same time, the competition was held in English.

Turkmen students won a total of 15 gold medals out of 27. Five highest awards were won in the intellectual team competition held on the second day of the Olympics. Three of them were awarded to Turkmen experts, the other two were won by representatives of Russia and Uzbekistan.
