Yesterday, June 5, 2021, talks began in Herat between the delegations of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, led by the Foreign Ministers. Today the Turkmen-Afghan negotiations will continue through the Foreign Ministry.
The agenda of talks included the topics of development of political and economic partnership of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, stabilization of peace on the Afghan territory. Separate issues of discussion were the implementation of TAPI, TAP Transmission Line, railway, Lapis Lazuli transport corridor, export of marble from Herat to the territory of Turkmenistan.
Rashid Meredov and Mohammad Hanif Atmar called strengthening peace and security in Afghanistan a key priority for the two countries. According to the ministers, the common vision of the Presidents of the neighboring countries is economic well-being, peace and security not only for our states, but also for the region and for the planet as a whole.
Rashid Meredov emphasized Turkmenistan's interest in developing political and economic cooperation with Afghanistan.
