Chinar Rustemova, Executive Secretary of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, led the Turkmen delegation in a meeting with Evren Rutbil, Director of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies. This is reported by Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was held on September 18 in the building of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry. The parties reviewed the results of joint activities and outlined promising areas of interaction. The successful completion of work on the preparation of the serial nomination "Great Silk Road: Zaravshan - Karakum Corridor" was noted. In September last year, a decision was made to include this site in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The Turkmen side expressed interest in developing partnership with IICAS in the field of cultural and historical development of the Central Asian region.
