Under the UN Development Program, 281 mobile air disinfection units were delivered to Turkmenistan. All equipment was distributed to various medical institutions of the country. The sources of funding for the project were the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Global Fund.
UV units can effectively combat bacteria of different strains that cause dangerous infections. The units have extensive positive experience in use around the world, including in counteracting the activation of SARS-CoV-2. It is worth noting that as of March 17 no cases of COVID-19 were registered in Turkmenistan.
Earlier this week, as part of the cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Turkmenistan and UNDP, medicines to treat chronic respiratory diseases were delivered to Ashgabat.
