U.S. President Joe Biden has nominated Ms. Elizabeth Rood to serve as Ambassador to Turkmenistan in August 2022 as part of the formation of a new administration. The Senate of the United States of America has confirmed the nomination of Ms. Elizabeth Rood to serve as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Turkmenistan.

Elizabeth Rood has extensive diplomatic experience. The ambassador has been active in strengthening ties between Turkmenistan and the United States. Previously, Rood served as deputy head of the diplomatic mission to the Russian Federation and then in various positions in diplomatic missions in CIS countries.
