On June 27, a five-day training began in Ashgabat aimed at improving approaches to combating human trafficking. The main target audience of the event is practitioners in the criminal justice sector.
Training participants gained knowledge and skills to help them prevent, detect and investigate human trafficking cases. Criminal law experts learned about the UN Convention and reviewed Turkmenistan's legislation on combating organized crime and recent amendments to the law.
The training is organized by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, together with USAID programs. The event will take place over five days and will end on July 1.
