School teachers in Turkmenistan receive training to improve gender competence

Today, great importance in the field of education is given to the gender competence of teachers. That is why the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and the UN Children's Fund conducted trainings aimed at improving the gender competence of teachers. As part of this experiment, the aim was to analyze the level of knowledge of Turkmen teachers in this area of knowledge.

In the classroom, teachers had many discussions, completed tests and assignments, and sometimes used educational and game forms.

Teachers at the seminar were introduced to basic concepts of gender-sensitive pedagogy, gender-neutral language, and gender stereotypes.

A pressing problem for teachers in schools are classes in which there is not always even an approximate number of children of different genders. Therefore, a good help in their practical work will be the correct behavior of the teacher's work in a gender-sensitive way. In addition, teachers were explained: how to create safety in educational institutions in a gender-sensitive environment.

  • I'm a high school student myself, so far I haven't noticed anything like that??

  • A teacher herself. What the hell is that? I've never heard of anything like that. Are we really going to be guided by so-called "Western and American values"? I don't think such questions arose in the classrooms. Girls and boys get along well with each other. "A pressing problem for school teachers is classes that do not always have even an approximate number of children of different genders." How's that? What do you mean?

  • Apparently school 7 is out, ? I haven't heard of such a contest. I would have loved to take part .... apparently not fate.
