New Year celebrations were held for the first time in Arkadag, the first "smart" city in the Central Asian region. This is reported by turkmenportal.com.

Vocal and creative groups performed on the main square of the city on New Year's Eve, the lights of the main Christmas tree of Arkadag city were lit for the first time. In addition, the "smart" city for the first time took part in the holiday telebridge, which connects all corners of Turkmenistan.

It should be recalled that the opening ceremony of the Turkmen "smart" city was held in June last year. Since then, the city has hosted a number of events of national and international level. In 2024, in accordance with the Decree of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Arkadag will become the venue for the Week of Culture of Turkmenistan.
