The exhibition and championship of Turkmen horses were held in Hungary

The exhibition and international equestrian show-championship of Akhalteke horses were held in the Hungarian town of Babolne. This is reported by the online edition "Orient."

The Minister of Agriculture of Hungary Istvan Nagy made a speech during the solemn part of the event. He noted that the country was pleased to support the initiative to hold the championship of Turkmen racehorses of a unique breed. The competition was attended by 59 purebred and half-bred Akhalteke horses from 11 countries. The jury evaluated the steps, gallop, jumping and movement and dressage.

Horse breeding in Hungary has a rich history, and Akhal-Teke horses were the focus of breeders until the 19th century. Since the 1970s, the breeding of Akhal-Teke horses has been resumed. Today in Hungary, Akhalteke breeding is carried out in several cities, and the number of breeding mares has already reached one hundred.

The horse show was held on the eve of the Days of Turkmen Culture in Hungary.
