Turkmenistan's presidential candidate, Deputy Prime Minister Serdar Berdymukhamedov, briefed voters on his election program. This happened on February 21, 2022, as part of a visit to Dashoguz province. In addition to presenting the key areas of his election program, Berdymukhamedov spoke about how he sees the further development of the region in the event that he takes the highest state office.
As noted by the deputy head of the Cabinet, his program provides for the conduct of comprehensive activities to enhance the prestige of Turkmenistan in the global arena. The priority will be given to implementation of measures of the national program of social and economic development, which covers the next 30 years. The welfare of the country and Turkmen people is its goal.
Speaking about Dashoguz province, candidate Berdumukhamedov emphasized that he would pay significant attention to its development, as well as that of other regions. He also recalled that the Great Silk Road once passed through this territory. The Deputy Prime Minister declared his intention to continue the initiatives of the current Turkmen leader.
The election program presented by the deputy prime minister of Turkmenistan also provides for more active construction of residential buildings in the region, reasonable water use and provision of all Dashoguz residents with clean drinking water; development of tourist destinations both within the country and internationally; construction of new schools and kindergartens; repairs and construction of roads, including the Ashgabat-Dushoguz highway and the Dashoguz-Kunyaurgench and Dashoguz-Ruhubelent highways.
Berdymukhamedov's program also specifically mentions support for private enterprise, especially in the agro-industrial sphere; development of the health care system; protection of the natural environment; and improvement of the social and living standards of fellow citizens.
