On April 23, a children's festival "Hopes of Green Future" was held in Ashgabat on the territory of the joint Turkmen-Turkish school. This was reported by the TurkmenPortal online edition.
The event was organized by the Turkish Embassy in Turkmenistan and Ýaş Tebigatçy ("Young Naturalist") NGO. The event is timed to coincide with three important dates - Turkey's National Independence Day, Children's Day and the International Day for a Waste-Free World.
During the grand opening of the festival, pupils of the school performed Turkish and Turkmen national dances, magic tricks, circus numbers. Contests and games were organized for children. The program of the event also included lessons on environmental literacy. Schoolchildren took part in an eco-quest and presented works made of recyclable materials at an exhibition organized as part of the festival.
