Turkmenistan became a participant of the Cities of the Future Mayors Summit

The Turkmen delegation headed by Avaz district mayor D. Dzhumaev took part in the Summit of Mayors "Cities of the Future" in Geneva from September 30 to October 1. This is reported by the Internet edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."

The event was organized by the UN Economic Commission for Europe. The Turkmen side presented information on achievements in the field of sustainable urban development at the Summit. D. Dzhumaev spoke about the measures taken to ensure a better quality of life and create conditions for citizens to live in accordance with the needs of modernity.

It was noted that a successful example of application of new technologies in the field of sustainable development and urbanism was the implementation of the project of "smart" city Arkadag. In addition, the Turkmen delegation made a presentation of the Avaza National Tourist Zone.

The Turkmen side put forward an initiative to develop a new legal instrument on water resources management under the auspices of UNECE.
