Turkmenistan participates in conference on green growth in Seoul

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea Begench Durdyev took part in the opening ceremony of the "Global Conference on Cooperation on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth" held in Seoul on August 22. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Kim Min-seok, and other Korean government officials. The prime minister presented the new Korean government's plans to expand renewable energy sources, including solar and wind power, as well as the establishment of a dedicated industrial complex for RE100, a 100% renewable energy transition initiative.

The Korean side plans to ensure a transition to green energy to achieve carbon neutrality and boost economic growth. The conference discussed efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and cooperation with the UN and other international organizations to adapt to climate change.

As part of the event, Ambassador Durdyev had a brief conversation with Prime Minister Kim Min-seok, conveying warm greetings from the leadership of Turkmenistan and congratulations on his appointment. The Turkmen diplomat noted that the Embassy is making every effort to develop high-level relations between Turkmenistan and the new Korean government.

The Korean side expressed gratitude for congratulations and emphasized great interest in developing mutually beneficial relations and cooperation with Central Asian countries, especially Turkmenistan.
