Turkmenistan and Ethiopia discuss transportation cooperation

A meeting was held with the Minister of Transport and Logistics of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia

Ashgabat, August 4 - Arzuw.news. Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmed Gurbanov held a meeting with Ethiopian Minister of Transport and Logistics Alemu Sime Feisa to discuss bilateral cooperation in the transport sector. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, the sides reviewed the current state and prospects for the development of interaction between the two countries, paying special attention to the transportation issue. The Ethiopian side highly appreciated the significance of the visit of the Turkmen delegation headed by Chairman of the Democratic Party A. Serdarov to Addis Ababa in early 2025.

The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in promoting regional and international cooperation. Turkmenistan and Ethiopia expressed interest in expanding bilateral ties in the fields of transportation, ecology and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The Ethiopian side expressed its intention to participate in Turkmenistan's peace initiatives aimed at sustainable development. Special attention was paid to the upcoming International Peace and Confidence Building Forum, which is scheduled to be held in Turkmenistan in December 2025.

The Ethiopian Minister of Transport expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for organizing the Third UN Conference and hospitality.
