A regular meeting of heads of parliaments was held in Ashgabat

The second meeting of the heads of parliaments of the member states of the Group of Friends of Neutrality took place on October 8, 2025. The event on the theme "Interparliamentary Dialogue - a key tool to ensure peace and confidence at the global level" was held in a hybrid format. About it reports Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. 

The forum, chaired by the head of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova, was attended by heads of legislative bodies of the Group's member countries, representatives of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the CIS IPA Council, as well as UN agencies, including the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.

The participants unanimously recognized Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality as a positive factor in strengthening international stability, noting the UN as a reliable partner in ensuring peace and security.

The discussion emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy as an effective mechanism for the development of international cooperation. The colleagues supported the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to proclaim 2028 the Year of International Law.
