Mass holiday prayers were held in mosques in Turkmenistan

Ashgabat, May 24, /Arzuw NEWS/. Mass festive prayers were held in mosques in all provinces of Turkmenistan and in the capital in honor of the holy Muslim holiday Oraza Bayram. This is a prayer that marks the beginning of the celebration of the main holiday of the entire Muslim world - Eid al-Fitr, which is celebrated at the end of the month of Ramadan.

President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov sent a congratulatory letter to the people of Turkmenistan on the occasion of Oraza Bayram (Eid al-Fitr).

In the month of Ramadan, Turkmenistan is the home of neutrality, honoring the Holy Quran, the Book sent by Almighty God, observing traditional religious rituals, giving alms, offering prayers, interceding for people's prayers and intercession. Educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, fostering pride in the glorious past and present, instilling confidence in the future," President Berdimuhamedov said.

Note that Oraza Bayram is a national holiday in Turkmenistan, in honor of which on May 24-25 this year announced inoperable.

During this week, other Central Asian countries announced that holiday prayers would not be held en masse to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Countries such as Turkey, Iraq and Jordan have banned citizens from the streets during the holidays. In Saudi Arabia, however, it is acceptable to leave the house to buy medicine and food. Religious leaders in Indonesia, home to the world's largest Muslim population, also call for celebrations at home.
