15 July, Ashgabat, /Arzuw NEWS/. In a press statement, Dr. Catherine Smallwood, senior emergency specialist, WHO European Office, head of WHO mission in Turkmenistan, said:
To date, no confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been registered in Turkmenistan.
Also, the expert added:
Based on our observations, we conclude that the country is fully aware of the current danger posed by the virus and is taking steps to prepare to respond to the spread of COVID-19.
The head of the mission stressed that experts commended the Turkmen government for recently introducing enhanced measures to prevent the spread of respiratory infections and protect public health, including during mass events, in markets, stores, and public transport.
