Turkmenistan and Japan discuss trade cooperation

Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan N. Agakhanov has completed his working visit to Japan, which was held from August 30 to September 3 in Osaka and Tokyo. Arzuw.news reports citing a source.

During the trip, the Turkmen delegation held talks with key representatives of Japanese business and trade organizations. In Tokyo, meetings were held with Chairman of the Turkmen-Japanese Committee on Economic Cooperation H. Tsubai from ITOCHU Corporation and President of the Japanese Foreign Trade Organization JETRO N. Ishiguro.

In Osaka, the delegation visited the pavilion of Turkmenistan at the World EXPO 2025 where it met with M. Ichinoki, Deputy Secretary General of the Japan EXPO 2025 Association. Negotiations were also held with the Commissioner of the National Pavilion of Saudi Arabia, Director of the National Pavilion of Qatar and representatives of Masui Co. Ltd.

The central topics of the discussions were the prospects of work of Japanese companies in Turkmenistan, expansion of export-import ties and promotion of Turkmen textile products in the Japanese market. The meetings were aimed at strengthening trade and economic partnership between the two countries, especially in the areas of trade and textile industry.
