A meeting on climate change was held in Ashgabat

On August 29, a working meeting was held in Ashgabat within the framework of the UNDP project "Sustainable Cities in Turkmenistan: Integrated Development of Green Cities in Ashgabat and Avaza" with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other agencies and ministries on climate change. This is reported by the online edition "TurkmenPortal.

The working meeting was devoted to the preparation of the Fourth National Communication and the First Biennial Report of Turkmenistan under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. In addition, the steps to implement activities in Turkmenistan under the Paris Agreement were considered.

The participants of the meeting considered the progress of the country's fulfillment of the Global Methane Commitment and issues of preparation for the 29th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC, which will be held in November this year in Baku.
