UNICEF-supported training for trainers was held in Ashgabat

A four-day training course for trainers, organized by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan in cooperation with UNICEF in the country, was held in Ashgabat. The course was devoted to child-friendly attitudes when investigating crimes against minors or involving under-age witnesses. This is reported by the Internet publication AsmanNews. 

The training was attended by investigators of the IABs of the Turkmen capital and provinces, teaching staff of the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Psychology Department of the Makhtumkuli TSU. The participants of the training event familiarized themselves with the methodology and methods of assessment, data collection and identification of needs, taking into account children's interests.

In the course of the training, specialists studied behavioral analysis and various psychological factors in the investigation of crimes. Attention was paid to inter-agency cooperation involving specialized professionals in responding to crimes involving persons under the age of majority.
