US Ambassador held a press conference in Ashgabat

A press conference was held at the residence of U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan Matthew Climow on June 24 to mark the end of his diplomatic mission. This was reported by the Internet edition "TurkmenPortal.

The event was attended by Turkmen and foreign journalists, bloggers, media representatives and members of public organizations.

Matthew Klimow has been representing US interests in Turkmenistan for 5 years. In his speech, the Ambassador spoke about the main directions of Turkmen-American relations. He noted that the countries successfully cooperate within the framework of the COP-28 program to reduce methane emissions, cooperate in the field of water resources management. Assistance to Turkmenistan's accession to the WTO and successfully implemented youth STEM projects were also noted.

Elizabeth Rood has been appointed as the new U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan and will arrive in the country on July 23.
