In honor of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Italy, the National Music and Drama Theater named after Makhtumkuli hosted an opera concert based on works by Giacomo Puccini. This was reported by the Internet edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."
The concert was organized by the Italian Embassy in Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
The main star of the festive evening was the famous Italian tenor opera singer Matteo Lippi. Musicians of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan under the direction of Rasul Klychev also performed at the concert together with the Italian tenor.
Puccini's works - "La Bohème", "Tosca", "Madame Butterfly" and others - were performed on the stage of the Turkmen theater for the first time. Talking about his impressions of Ashgabat, Matteo Lippi noted that he was glad to meet Turkmen singers and musicians.
