A mass ascent along the Health Path and a ceremony honoring athletes who demonstrated good results at international tournaments was held in the Turkmen capital with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on November 2.
According to TDH, the event was held to commemorate the Resolution "United Nations Friendship Games" initiated by Turkmenistan and adopted at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
Before the mass ascent, a contest to walk the Health Trail was announced among representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations, university students, as well as employees of ministries and departments.
More than 6 thousand people took part in the action. Following the example of the head of state, the Chairman of the Mejlis, members of the Government, heads and representatives of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, public organizations, mass media, diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, rectors of higher educational institutions and students joined the ascent.
During the ascent along the Health Path, the Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov, addressing the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Annamammedov, who is in charge of the capital, inquired about the work being done. The Deputy Prime Minister reported on the state of affairs on maintaining ecological well-being and comprehensive modernization of urban infrastructure.
Focusing attention on the implementation of the Concept of Ashgabat's development, the President of the country instructed to keep under constant control the issues of modernization of the city's infrastructure, maintenance of parks and squares, as well as creation of favorable living conditions for the population and opportunities for sports.
At the end of the mass ascent along the Health Path, a ceremony honoring the athletes of the national teams of Turkmenistan who won prizes at international competitions was held. Under the loud applause of numerous participants, the athletes and coaches of the national teams of Turkmenistan who won at the international competitions were presented with valuable gifts on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the ceremony, memorial gifts were presented to the winners of the contest for walking the Health Trail between representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations, employees of ministries and agencies, as well as students of higher educational institutions.
