A seminar on land resources management was held in Dashoguz province of Turkmenistan

Within the framework of the project "Conservation and sustainable management of land resources and ecosystems of high natural value in the Aral Sea basin for multiple benefits", a seminar on integrated land resources management was held in Dashoguz. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

During the workshop participants were familiarized with the impact of droughts on fertility of pasture lands and methods of increasing their productivity in arid climate. The topic of defining borders and area of saline and degraded lands and methods of soil salinity control was considered.

The project is implemented by the United Nations Development Program and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan with the financial support of GEF.
