Baku, July 18 - Arzuw.news. National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the cities of Fizuli and Shusha within the cultural program of his visit to Azerbaijan. This was reported by the State Information Agency of Turkmenistan.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met the high-ranking guest at Fizuli International Airport. The airport was decorated with state flags of the two countries. Hero Arkadag was familiarized with Fizuli International Airport, commissioned in 2021, as well as Lachin and Zangilan airports, built in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
On the way to Shusha, the special representative of the President of Azerbaijan showed the guest construction projects in Fizuli, where residential complexes, health care and education institutions are being built. On Dashalti Plain near Shusha, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and President Aliyev took a joint memorable photo.
In Shusha, located at an altitude of 1368 meters above sea level and considered the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, the delegation visited a residential complex under construction. Hero Arkadag familiarized with the construction of a new mosque, the foundation of which was laid in 2021 by an Italian company together with Azerbaijani architects.
A visit was made to the photo exhibition dedicated to Heydar Aliyev in the building of the Creation Center included in the list of architectural monuments of national importance. The guests also toured the Shusha fortress, built in 1752 on a high hill and an architectural monument of national importance.
The tour was conducted by his son, People's Artist of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan Polat Bülbül oglu, at the house-museum of opera singer Bülbül. The delegation visited the Govher Aga Mosque in the historical part of Shusha, where prayers were offered for peaceful life of the Turkmen and Azerbaijani peoples.
Show performances of dzhigits with Karabakh horses were held in Jydyr Plain. The National Leader of the Turkmen people was presented a horse of Karabakh breed named Dostluk.
Having completed the program of the visit, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov departed from Fizuli airport to his homeland, where he was met by officials at the capital's airport.
