On March 24, Serdar Berdymukhamedov signed a decree on the regular military conscription, as well as the retirement of conscripts who have served the period prescribed by law.
The president of Turkmenistan also signed a document on encouraging soldiers who distinguished themselves in the course of social and humanitarian and combat training. Officials have been instructed to give dismissals and incentives in the same setting.
In accordance with the legislation of Turkmenistan, the spring call-up in April-June will apply to citizens of the country who have reached the age of 18 and do not have deferments provided by the state. Also, young people under the age of 27 who have lost the right to use deferments will be called up for service.
The policy of neutrality followed by the state makes it possible to keep the armed forces on alert for defensive purposes to ensure a high level of military security.
