During his visit to the Akhalteke Horse Racing Complex, the President of Turkmenistan wrote a poem dedicated to Ashgabat. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov's poetic work was inspired by the birth of a thoroughbred foal.
Upon arrival at the hippodrome, the head of state was notified of the birth of the firstborn of the legendary Akhalteke horse Akhan, known not only in Turkmenistan but also beyond its borders. In 2018, Akhan ran the ten-meter distance on the reins in 4.19 seconds, setting a world record.
The president tied the neck of the colt alaja, created by Ogulabat-eje Berdymukhamedova, and named it Ashgabat - coinciding with the 140th anniversary of the founding of Turkmenistan's capital.
Also inspired by the wonderful event, the President of Turkmenistan wrote the poem "My White City - Ashkhabad," thus completing his book "Ashkhabad.
