The State Statistics Committee of Turkmenistan jointly with UNICEF held a seminar in the Turkmen capital to assess the administrative data system on children in alternative care and custody. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The seminar was attended by representatives of State agencies, regional and capital city khakimliks and representatives of the Ombudsman's office. The seminar touched upon the topics of providing children in need with access to alternative services. UNICEF representatives spoke about the concept of alternative care, evaluation mechanisms at the national and sectoral levels, and TransMonEE reporting.
TransMonEE improves the coverage, quality, accessibility and use of information on children in areas related to children's rights and well-being, in line with the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
