Russian citizens living in Turkmenistan have their pensions restored

The Russian Embassy published on its own website an announcement that citizens of the Russian Federation staying permanently in Turkmenistan may restore their pensions. Thus, at the end of December 2020, the RF Government made adjustments to the Regulations governing the procedure of payment of insurance pensions to subjects who left the territory of Russia and permanently reside in other countries. The changes concern the algorithm of the resumption (restoration) of pensions, which were previously suspended or terminated.

Resumption (restoration) of pensions occurs on the 1st day of the month following the month in which all required documentation was submitted to the pension provision body. In particular, confirming the fact that the citizen claiming the pension is alive. At the same time, no more than a decade should have passed since the moment when the payment was terminated/suspended.

The amount of the insurance pension payment is also paid for the elapsed time, covering only the previous three years preceding the month from which the pension payments were renewed/restored.

For more information on this issue, please visit the website of the Russian diplomatic mission in the capital of Turkmenistan.

It is advisable to contact the information service of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation to resolve any questions that arise. You can do this using the online reception desk or by calling +7 (495) 987-80-30.

Also available is an electronic public service for the assignment of pensions and their payment.
