Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister meets with the EU High Representative

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell in Brussels on March 19. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The meeting focused on cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, including the Central Asia-EU format. Energy, transport, digitalization, education and climate were named as promising areas of cooperation.

The activities of the EU-Turkmenistan Joint Committee, as well as the human rights dialogue and inter-parliamentary cooperation were emphasized. The Turkmen side noted the country's initiatives aimed at ensuring regional security. The sides also touched upon the organization of the next meeting of the foreign ministers of the Central Asian countries and the EU.
