In 2024, Ashgabat will host the International Conference and Summit on the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli

During the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, which was held on January 6, 2024, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov proposed to hold high-level events in the Turkmen capital dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli Fraghi. This was reported by the online publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

In his report, the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan proposed to hold an International Conference at the level of ministers of culture in Ashgabat in May in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and a summit at the level of heads of government in October.

Summarizing the Deputy Prime Minister's report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed to ensure that international events are held at a high organizational level. The head of state noted that the planned events should multiply the role of Makhtumkuli's literary heritage in the world.
