In Dashoguz, a series of trainings on capacity building of villagers in desert pasture management and irrigated farming in the context of increasing droughts against the background of global climate change continues. This is reported in the press release of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
The activities are organized within the framework of the pilot project "Integrated management of natural resources in drought and salinity-prone agricultural production landscapes of CA and Turkey". This year about 25% of the country's territory was affected by drought. In this regard, it is necessary to raise public awareness on the rational use of natural resources and increase preparedness for drought and desertification.
Special attention during trainings is paid to the topic of watering of desert pastures with the assistance of local administrations.
