Turkmenistan hosts events for International Mother Earth Day

In Lebap velayat of Turkmenistan, an eco-festival was held in the city of Turkmenabat on April 22 on the initiative of the Government of Turkmenistan and the U.S. Embassy in Turkmenistan, dedicated to the International Day of Mother Earth. This is reported in the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

In Bitaraplyk Park there were themed stands, showcases with handmade products, and booths with information about education in the United States.

International Earth Day was established at the UN General Assembly on April 22, 2009. This holiday is intended to remind mankind of the fragility of the environment and the need to protect nature. On this day, eco-activities, conferences and forums, exhibitions, as well as cleanup, greening of territories and planting of young saplings are held all over the world.
