Japanese Ambassador to Turkmenistan Sasaki Hiroshi told in his New Year greeting addressed to the Turkmen people about the increasing interest in learning Japanese language among the young generation. This is reported by the Internet edition SNG.Today.
Sasaki Hiroshi cited statistics on the number of Turkmenistanis learning Japanese. While in 2015 only 50 people studied Japanese, by 2024 this figure has grown to 16,000 people.
The Japanese diplomat also emphasized that during his tenure as Ambassador the strengthening of interstate cooperation was noted. This was largely due to mutual visits of high-ranking representatives of Turkmenistan and Japan. In addition, the high dynamics of development of trade and economic relations between the countries was noted.
